Islamic Relief Canada is a humanitarian and development organization working in over 40 countries worldwide. We provide life-saving humanitarian aid to those in need, and fight poverty through sustainable development projects. Inspired by faith, we serve everyone in need regardless of gender, race or religion.

What a Relief is a space to share the many heartwarming stories, persistent issues, and interesting ideas that we come across in our work. We hope our posts will move you, inspire you and make you think about things in a different way! It’s also a chance to see how things work behind the scenes at an organization like ours, as well as read what our staff and volunteers have to say.

Our writers are primarily volunteers and staff, as well as our field officers. And we’re also open to featuring guest pieces! If you’re interested in being a volunteer writer or collaborating with us on a piece, please get in touch to see if it’s a good fit for you!

Our hope is that What A Relief will grow to become a hub of knowledge and inspiration when it comes to development work, community organizing, and current issues like sustainability, equality and innovation.

Whether you are a donor, volunteer, community member, media representative, or someone who just heard about us, we hope you find this space to be helpful and inspiring!
